Have you ever thought about the stories your life could tell? The lessons you’ve learned, the experiences you’ve had, and the ways God has shown up for you? Lately, I’ve felt the Lord tugging on my heart about Legacy—not just the things we leave behind, but the words, wisdom, and faith we pass on to others.

It hit me: How will anyone know the depth of what God has done in my life if I don’t write it down

Think about it. Your life is a story that only you can tell, filled with moments of joy, pain, triumph, and transformation. But if those stories stay locked away in your mind, who will be encouraged by them

Your Voice Matters Maybe you think your story isn’t big enough or dramatic enough to matter. Let me tell you something: It does. Your voice matters. Your experiences matter. There’s someone out there who needs to hear what you’ve been through so they can see what’s possible for their own life.

You don’t have to be a perfect writer. You don’t need to use fancy words. Just start by sharing from your heart. Imagine your great-grandchildren reading your words one day, finding strength in your journey and hope in the way God carried you through. Isn’t that powerful?

Writing Is Building a LegacyWhen we write down our stories, it’s like planting seeds that will grow long after we’re gone. It’s not just about us—it’s about leaving something behind that points others to God’s goodness. Think about the Bible. It’s filled with stories of ordinary people whose lives became extraordinary because of God. Those stories still inspire us today because someone took the time to write them down.

How to Start Writing Your Legacy I know the idea of writing can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Here are a few simple steps to get you started:

  1. Reflect on Your Journey: Take a moment to think about the milestones in your life. What has God brought you through? What lessons have you learned along the way?

  2. Grab a Journal: You don’t need a fancy setup—just grab a notebook or even your phone and start jotting down your thoughts. Write like you’re talking to a friend.

  3. Be Consistent: Set aside a little time each week to write. It doesn’t have to be long or perfect—just keep going.

  4. Pray for Guidance: Ask God to show you what to share. Trust that He will guide your words.

Your Words Have Power Imagine someone picking up your journal or reading your story years from now. They’re going through a tough time, and your words remind them that they’re not alone, that God is faithful, and that they can make it through. That’s the power of legacy.

You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to be willing. Your voice can echo for generations to come, sharing hope, love, and the goodness of God.
